Brad Macy participated in three sports while attending El Dorado High School from 1986 through 1989.He earned All-Ark Valley first team honors as a utility player on the Wildcat baseball team as a sophomore in 1987, made the All-League second team as a shortstop in his junior year and was All-Ark Valley first team as a catcher his senior year, 1989.

Brad earned three letters while playing football for El Dorado High School from 1987 through 1989. He also lettered in basketball in 1987.

During the summer, he participated in American Legion baseball for El Dorado post 81 playing various positions during a 4-year period. He was a member of the 1988 AA team that placed second in the AA American Legion Tournament held in Norton, Kansas.

After graduating from high school in 1989, he signed a letter of intent to play baseball for Butler County Community College and was a catcher. While at BCCC he had opportunity to play on two very competitive teams. In 1990, the Butler County team was the Western Conference Champions, won the Western Conference Tournament and the Region Six Championship. Butler County finished the season placing second in the Tri-State Tournament.

During the summer of 191 Brad played for the Wichita Broncos. Although he didn't get to play much, he considered it a good experience for him. The Broncos placed third in the NBC World Series that year. In 1991, he signed a letter of intent to play baseball for Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. He was a catcher for Washburn from 1991 through 1993. He served as a graduate assistant at Washburn during the 1993-94 season. Brad considered this time spent as another great experience in his young life. He graduated from Washburn in the spring of 1994 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology.

In August of 1994, Brad began life after college. He went to work for the State of Kansas through the juvenile justice authority. He has been working with youth in the Sumner County area for the past ten years.

In June, 1995, he married Amy Chappell whom he met at Washburn. She is an Accounting Manager with the Coleman Company. They have two wonderful children, Kaitlin and Matthew. They have lived in Andover, Kansas the last two years.

Brad looks forward to continuing hi baseball career as a parent and coach. He hopes to pass along his wonderful experiences from sports to his children.
